MIXING FAQ
INSTRUMENTAL & VOCALS MIX VS. FULL MIX
If your song has a beat that is a single MP3 or WAV file along with your vocal recordings, then you need an Instrumental & Vocals Mix. If your beat is "tracked out" the instruments [kick drum, snare, bass, synth, etc.] are on separate tracks, along with your vocal recordings then you need a Full Mix.
WHY DO YOU NEED IT?
"A mix can either make or break your song."
WHAT YOU WILL GET?
Every mix is different, however, there are certain things that you can expect to receive every time. This includes gain staging, volume balance, panning adjustments, EQ, compression and creative touches such as reverb, and delays, along with other effects to enhance your music. The mix will dictate what needs to be done but at the least expect the mentioned processes.
WHAT YOU WILL NOT GET
-Editing
-Arrangement Adjustments
[Carefully listen to the files you are submitting to be sure that the arrangement is correct and there are no issues that need to be addressed before mixing.]
WHAT DO I NEED TO SEND?
If your mix order consisted of a full tracked out mix then I will need the tracked out files [stems] of your project. Make sure that you send them dry (no effects) but it is, however, recommended that you send one MP3 file of a raw mix that I can use as a reference. If your mix order consisted of a 2 track mix, then I will need the WAV files of the vocal(s) and a MP3 or WAV file of the instrumental.
WHAT KIND OF FILES SHOULD I SEND?
24 bit WAVs are perfect.
WHAT DELIVERABLES WILL I RECEIVE?
Full Mix orders will include a mixed MP3 and WAV file, WAV stems [with effects] of the completed song.
Instrumental & Vocals Mix orders will receive a mixed MP3 file and a mixed WAV file of the completed song.
Performance and radio edits can be sent upon request.
